Mister GC is Grant Cochrane and is a Germany based Street Photographer whom I have followed since seeing a shot of his on Flickr about 6 months ago. The funny thing is it wasn’t a Street Shot but the first shot featured here. There’s a good banter between us, and we both accept critique from […]
I decided I would like to show others work that I really like, and select my favourite photos of theirs, and the reasons why, (with their permission of course). It is hard to just pick out a few, but you do find shots that either jump out at you, or you spend a lot of […]
A continuation of yesterdays post of my trip to Cardiff Bay on Whitsun Bank Holiday. All the shots were taken with my D7000 and Nikkor 85mm lens.
Yesterday was Whitsun Bank Holiday. I took a trip to Cardiff Bay. I arrived at 12, and was surprised how quiet it was. There were 2 stages on the bay and as the afternoon went on it got busier until it was hard getting shots, especially on Mermaid Quay due to the number of people. […]
Whilst in Amsterdam there was a funfair set up in Dam Square. It seemed a bit weird to see a funfair with the high rides squashed into a small area. I’m used to seeing them in fields but not in the middle of the city with all the buildings so close. There were bungee rides, […]
Amsterdam is a maze of canals and bridges. It is so easy to get lost, and end up going around in circles. On almost every bridge their are bicycles. Unlike the UK, where there is a big issue in towns and cities with Car Parking, but you can always find somewhere to chain your bike, […]
As I’ve mentioned before, it is unbelievable how many bicycles there are in Amsterdam. As I have so many shots of people on bicycles I was wondering how I could categorise them into sort of sets. I don’t know if it is the same elsewhere but in the UK, bicycles are also known as pushbikes […]
This post is a follow on from yesterday’s. The reason they are separated is just so that there are not too many shots to scroll through, and I hadn’t completed processing all of them yesterday.
After the previous post of Single Women in Amsterdam, I thought I would return to some of the other people shots I have. I was going to title it along the lines of couples, but that may imply that the people are romantically linked, so went with the title above. All the shots were taken […]
Before I went to Amsterdam a lot of people had told me about it. About the museums, coffee shops, red light district, the buses & trams. However when I got there the thing that fascinated me most was the number of bicycles. I saw more bicycles on the first day there than I had seen […]
Apart from the parade I also got some shots which the 85mm is made for. It was a beautiful sunny day. Not as many people in the City as during the week, but a more relaxed feel, with less rushing about.
Today I was going to take the 50mm out for a run to Cardiff, and leave the 85mm behind, but a the last minute decided to stick with the 85mm. When I got to Cardiff there was a march as HMS Dragon has been given the freedom of Cardiff.
