Curiosity

Or Gullibility?

I am always amazed at how curios children and animals are, but there is nothing to match the curiosity of Adult Human Beings. And for that matter their gullibility.

The Street Performer is set up and people are curious. Some are probably scratching their heads.

Curiosity

Shielding their eyes from the sun to see better, even though they have sunglasses on.

Curiosity

Just mesmerized in the blazing sun.

Curiosity

Even looking from a distance.

Curiosity

Some people may have doubts, but are still dumbfounded.

Curiosity

It may be best to just stand and observe.

Curiosity

If you do, you may find yourself tilting slightly.

Curiosity

Watch out though, as you may get captivated, and think you can do the same.

Curiosity

There’s always someone who decides to join the entertainer on his stage.

Curiosity

And realise that it’s not as easy as the entertainer makes it look.

Curiosity

But still thinks, if someone can do it, then he can.

Curiosity

“What have you been up to? I only left you alone for a few minutes!”

  1. Hahaha. I love this, especially the shots where the man is trying to imitate the mime. Have you ever seen the movie Eurotrip? Some of the humor is kind of crude, which even though I’m no prude, made me blush. Even so, the movie is still pretty funny, and your shot of the man and the mime made me remember the scene in Eurotrip where Scotty and the mime in France get into a mime fight after Scotty imitates his moves, and someone gives Scotty money but not the actual mime.

I also like the very last shot of the man’s wife, because that’s exactly how we women feel when we leave our men alone and come back to find something like that. 😀

  2. There were so many people leaning back without realising whilst they were watching him, without even realising, but that guy was the best as there was nobody around him. The mime had the other little trick with pouring the water from the bottle to the cup that was intriguing people as well.

Not a big film watcher Tina, but get the picture from your description.

It was the obvious title for the shot with the wife. Had fun doing this post, remembering that guy.

  3. That is so cool. I’ve been looking at the images for a while and I think I know how he does it.
Why does he have a cover on the floor? I think maybe he had a large metal plate with a bendy metal pole with a seat going up his trouser leg to prop him up.

As for the images….excellent, a street photographers dream with onlookers concentrating on him and the expressions that the entertainer has brought out in the spectators is an added bonus for you.
I agree with Tina about the Chinese man and his wife :0) You hit the nail on the head with that title.

    • Grant, you Killjoy. I thought it was obvious but didn’t want to give it away. You didn’t mention the water.

Have you seen the fakirs? They actually hover above the ground. Well they do have a stick.

I have always said to find the entertainers, as people concentrate on them whilst you move around.

      • oooops sorry!
The fakirs? got to be careful saying that one out loud. Nope never heard of them I’ll Google that one.

I did get to another open day on 22nd June and there was a children/youth brass band playing which gave me the chance to get some spectator shots. I’m hoping to get that post ready for the weekend.
