After the reflection on my work over the last year it is nice to get back to my usual form of post.
During the week I took a trip to Bath, where I haven’t been for a month. The weather has been diabolical and I had a week off work and it was the only day it didn’t rain. Well not until the afternoon. I decided to go to different parts of the City as well as my usual haunts.
As regular readers of the blog will know, I like to take bench shots. There are plenty of benches in Bath, and apart from the first shot which is by the Pump House all the others are from places in the city I haven’t been before. In all the shots I either knelt on one knee or I sat on a bench to get them, to give a better POV.
This girl had sat next to me on the bench to have her lunch. When I got up and walked away, I then turned and knelt down to get the shot.
I took a walk through the narrow arcades and came across these people stopping for a bite to eat that they had purchased in the shops in the arcade. Once again I knelt to get the shot, with a couple of funny looks from the people on the bench as I stood.
After walking through the arcades, I came out by the river. That side is raised a good way above the river but could see a small tree covered area across the other side, so decided to go there for a sit down and see what came along.
As soon as I sat down I saw this woman chatting on her phone a few benches away.
This man came along and sat on the bench along from me. I had to rotate to portrait to fit him in.
As I got up from the bench and was strolling away, this lady came and sat down where I had been, so I sat where the man in the previous shot had got up from.
I decided to use both these shots as although they are the same person, due to her activity, they give a different view of her.
As I was leaving this small area I noticed this woman just so relaxed on the bench listening to her music. I waited for people to move away, then knelt and got the shot.
I saw these two girls talking on this bench alongside a main road. There was no way I was going to get in front of them so just waited for a gap in the traffic and got this shot.
