Bloemenmarkt

Bloemenmarkt is situated on Singel between Muntplein and Koningsplein in Amsterdam. It is the only floating market in the world. The flower shops actually float on the Singel Canal.

We were sat outside a cafe at one end of the Bloemenmarkt. Whilst sitting there I got the first shots before walking along the street and getting the others.

Going through the shots I was really irked by the shot of the blonde girl and was racking my brains by what was familiar about her. It was really getting to me that I should know. Then it clicked. It is the tilt of her head and her mouth open. The same as a candid shot of Demi (Stranger #7) that I took where she is calling out. I really like the posture.

All the shots were taken using my Nikon D7000 and Nikkor 85mm 1.8d. I have posted them in the order I shot them.

  1. Very nice blog site Wayne, you have some great shots, I have a blog section on my website but up to now I have not posted in anything in it, maybe I’ll give it a try. Look forward to seeing more of your work.

    • Thank you Baz, and I look forward to that Blog of yours up and running. You have some excellent shots to put in it. A little suggestion, you could put a series of “Religious” shots.

  2. Grant

I see what you mean about the blonde and the likeness of Demi….dead on with that. I like the one with the guy smoking, the smoke was well captured. But I really love the last one with the young child gazing into the eyes of the man. That’s a cracker.
    Good job Wayne.

    • Thank you Grant. I’ve done a post on the Blonde Girl.
